question re optimize and dvd capacity

just wondering - when I optimized my now 2nd dvda project, it shows the total dvd capacity as about 3.9gig (this is a +RW media)....I would expect 4.37 gig ... not sure what it's optimizing against(?)...any thoughts on this?

Options|Preferences|Burning|Space Available On Media

Set it to 4.70 GB.
