Quick Installation Question

slick204 wrote on 6/24/2004, 7:40 AM
I have downloaded and tried out the demo version of Movie Studio. I then purchased the full version at the local Best Buy. Do I need to uninstall the demo before loading the full version or just install on top of it? I also have MyDVD installed on my computer already and I’m hoping I can just leave it. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Steve

No need to reinstall. In fact, the demo version you downloaded is probably a newer release than the one you bought so you would be better off keeping that version. All you need to do is enter the serial number in the box you purchased and register it. Then the demo version becomes the full version.

I am in the same boat. 30 days is over so when I launch I can't enter serial number - my options are to register online or on another computer. If I do this can I then enter a S/N?

Thanks, I'll try that when I get home. I just figured the full version would have more than the demo version.

I believe that there should be an option to register by phone.....

Choose that and you should get the "Enter Serial Number" stuff, at least thats how it was on VF 2.0

FWIW, the boxed version includes a copy of MyDVD along with some crappy sound effects and video clips.

Cliff,

If you have the trial and you register it, the app opens and you can use the Help--> Enter Your Serial Number command to unlock the paid for version.

I entered the serial number off the CD case and it worked just like you said. Thanks!
