Quick sync--another look.

Some time ago, I posted some numbers indicating quick-sync added very little to CPU-only processing on my system. http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/forums/ShowMessage.asp?ForumID=4&MessageID=872603 Others have posted similar results. That was with V12. With V13, the results are much different. Using a Sony AVC template (26mbps) to MP4, I tried a few different renders on my current 720 60P 10 min project. Here are my render times:

CPU Only--1 slice-- Time: 14:20 File size 1.5 GB.
CPU Only--8 slices--Time: 11:43 File size 1.5 GB, roughly 20% faster. CPU utilization was up significantly.
Quick-sync-speed--- Time: 7:00. File size 1.9 GB. Over twice as fast.
Quick-sync-quality didn't work. It did render, but the results were a mess.

Regarding quality, I couldn't see a difference between the CPU and QS renders.

Perhaps someone else with an Intel GPU might want to give it a try with V13.

Did you change your processor between Vegas 12 and 13? Only some Intel processors have QSV, right?

I have AMD 8350 and see same speed increase with 8 slices.

But I wonder if Vegas will scale up with the new i9 and Ryzen Threaddripper processors?
