Quick workflow question

I have 5 veg projects (about 5 minutes each) and I need to create a new veg file adding these 5 veg files, plus a few more clips.

Should I render all the 5 veg files into single uncompressed avi files and then put the 5 uncompressed files into my new veg file (which will then be rendered to BluRay)?

All footage was recorded in 720p @60fps

The goal is to produce 1 bluray disc playing all the footage from the 5 veg files, with some additional clips I need to add. I don't want to lose any quality.

(I don't want to nest all the veg files, because each veg file I was editing is a bit messy....okay a lot messy!!!)

Thanks

If your individual .veg projects hold whatever mess - they contain without spill - THEN NESTING is your answer! Despite what you attempt to state in your concern - this is exactly what nesting is built to accomplish.

Other route is goind to composite intermediates - you could use Sony MXF MPeg2 - but Cineform is way better.

Yes , if the individual projects are 'final', then rendering to an intermediate (lossless) format would make the combined project tidier. If not 'final', then nested....

Two other options, although additional software is required:

First, you could render each of the individual projects and then combine these into a final file. I do this all the time using TMPGNC's Mpeg Editor which losslesly combines the files except for a few transition frames between files. This assumes you choose MPG as your final render format. I believe that VideoReDo will do the same for avc files.

Second, using the Transcoder function within Vegasaur, you can batch render the inidividual projects and have them "stitched" together, thus producing a single combined file.
