Quicktime 5 warning!

SonyEPM wrote on 4/24/2001, 2:20 PM
Quicktime 5 was released yesterday (April 23). There are
some compatibility issues between QT5 authoring components
and Sonic Foundry products (the crashes on render, as we
saw while testing QT5 beta, are gone BUT you may not be
able to successfully render to all formats in VideoFactory,
Vegas, etc).

You are encouraged to hold off on installation of QT5 if
you want to render to QT formats using SF products. We are
testing the release version of Quicktime 5 now and will
have more news soon.

Quicktime 4 works fine, and as of this writing it is still
possible to download QT4 from www.quicktime.com should you
experience render problems.

So I just paid #30 bucks for QuickTime pro since I had the free version before I installed VF.

When I tried to render sample files to QT, VF told me I needed more QT components BEFORE I did the QT 5 pro upgrade, and it still tells me the same thing. The only reason I got VF was to make QT files.

What now?

Did you install the QT authoring components? If those are missing you'd see that message-

I installed the complete Quicktime 5 Pro edition with all components
and have to trouble with it. Actually i installed it back when it first came
out in April and it worked fine back then.
