Quicktime exception and crash...

Hello,

ok, so I uninstalled Quicktime recently to solve an unrelated problem, and then reinstalled the latest version. I also updated to Pro so I was back were I was when this all started. Quicktime/iTunes was happy again. Whew. Only problem is Vegas 8 no longer wants to play nice with veggies that point to Quicktime files - I get a Quicktime.qts module related exception, and then Vegas crashes. If you move the Quicktime files to another folder, Vegas *will* open, ask if you want to locate them, and then give the exception once you point to it. So I guess I'm stuck. BTW: The Quicktime files in question play fine, so they're not the problem, and this is version 7.6.4, in case that matters. So, anyone ever see this? I can't believe no one has. Is it as simple as uninstalling Vegas and reinstalling to restore the previously functioning marriage? Hoping someone with experience with this particular issue can help.

P.S. Please no advice about about using Quicktime to convert the clips as a workaround - we all know it's a ridiculous solution. This is about Vegas using Quicktime components just fine at one point in time, and then tanking when those components are removed and replaced (with presumable what was there before).
