Easy --
Use either the Sony AVC or the Mainconcept AVC encoder, render as .mp4, then rename the extension to .mov (renaming is optional).
Works like a charm.

Thanks for the easy solution! I'll give it a try.

Doesn't seem to be a preset for broadcast settings. Do you have recommendations?

There is no gold standard for broadcasters -- they all want it a little different.
Contact the station and see how they want it, I would keep the AVC bitrate high, probably around 5,000,000 bps if the source is MPEG-2, 15,000,000 bps if the source is DV25.

Thanks again.

Hi,

Using Vegas 9.0, I created an AVC clip and renamed however, the audio is out of sync with the video.

The original media was captured using VidCap with the following:

.AVi's using the Sony Digital Codec @ 720x480, 29.970 with an average bit rate of 30092 Kbps

I rendered out from Vegas using the following:

AVC 720x480
Profile: Main
Entropy Coding: CABAC
29.970
Lower field first
0.9091 Pixel aspect ratio
10,000,000 Bit rate
Audio:
AAC
48 Hz
128 bps
Stereo

Any ideas I should try?
Thanks
