QuickTime Pro v7.5.5 is not a codec. It's a player (and more) that supports many different codecs.

What export settings did you use in QT Pro?

You're correct about the QT player aspect, but it's got the latest codecs I believe, not sure of the version numbers it has installed...

To answer your question though, the files were exported out of a Final Cut Pro system as uncompressed 720/60p files...When I try to put them on the timeline, all I get is the audio...No video track. This tells me that Vegas isn't recognizing the QT video codec that it was encoded with.

These files are coming in from out of house, and I need to be able to export them out in a format that our air server will accept...Usually, for this type of project, I just export them out of QuickTime, or directly out with the BlackMagic designs Multibridge Pro Media Express software...But neither of them recognize the files either, so it's three strikes and you're out with these files...

The production company has sent them over in a couple of different flavors now, none of which have worked; which is strange because we have worked with their files before no problem...In fact, the files we have gotten from them before, and numerous other production houses all work just fine, so I'm having a hard time believing it's something wrong with my system...

Besides the above issue I need to resolve, the codec package I'm really interested in working with from within Vegas is the ProRes codec, which is an implementation of the h.264 standard. The files I've gotten in from FCP systems that have been encoded with this codec look pretty da*n good for mpeg4...I'd like to be able to get the same quality out of Vegas...

Thanks for any and all help/comments on this topic...
