Quicktime problem build 595

Tom Pauncz wrote on 3/7/2012, 9:02 PM
I wonder if anyone has come across this and if there is a fix other than going back to build 521.

I have a VP11 project built on build 521. NOTHING has changed in the system other than installing the update to build 595 and now I see this error on opening that old project or even a new one once I drag an .mov file to the timeline.

I am on the latest Quicktime Pro - 7.71.80.42. Have uninstalled and re-installed same with no change/fix.

Case opened with SCS Support.

TIA,
Tom

It would appear you're on a later QT version than the error suggests. I've got to think that the SCS error itself hasn't been updated to acknowledge your 7.7!?

I'm wondering what would happen if you could uninstall your 7.7 and install 7.1? Would it return an error?

I'll try and repro here in London.

Can't repro Tom and here's my QT Ver 7.7 screen:-

I don't know what else to suggest? I've rendered out several of the QT templates, my own flavour too, and they work.

What can I say . . . ?

Should make no difference - didn't on build 521. :-)

OK .. tried to use the qt7plug.dll from VP10.0e and it crashes VP11.

Is there some kind soul who still has VP11/521 installed who could email me that file or upload it so I can pick it up from somewhere?

Need to do some PD as VP10.0e is totally fine with the installed level of QT 7.7.1

TIA,
Tom

Hi Tom, if you get no reply i am willing to help. Do you need 32 or 64 bit?

Paul.

Thank Paul..
No other replies so far. 64-bit would be great.

Purrrfect Paul... Thank you so much!!

Problem fixed!!! Yay!

Now to see what SONY support has to say about this. No contact yet from the case I opened.

Can open existing project with .MOV in it as well as import a .MOV file.
