I just stumbled across an odd quirk. If I select a group of files in the Explorer window, I can then drag them over to the timeline, and they will obediently place themselves in sorted order, with one exception: the single file that I actually "grab" when moving the collection over to the timeline will be placed at the beginning of the timeline, regardless of where it actually should belong (based on sorting order). Curious.
