Quite a few things going wrong x.x

Hi everyone I am hoping there are some geeky people who can help me fix my Movie Maker version 12, here is a list of issues I can't seem to fix :(

Movie Maker uses way too little CPU:

Around 25% of my CPU and nothing more, that is even during rendering! I have a Core i5 2500k and I can throw allot at it but Movie Maker won't utilize the power I have. What do I do?

NewBlue loves to crash:
Happens quite allot even after re-installing a couple thousand times ;-;

NewBlue Titler Pro 2:
I upgraded to Titler Pro 2 and loading Vectors makes New Blue lag like a boss!
One sleight movement of the vector will stall Movie Maker for periods of time to the point of sometimes crashing o,x

Here is my Rig!

Windows 7 Professional
Core i5-2500k 3.6ghz
8 gigabyte DDR3 Kingston hyper memory
500 gig Western Digital Caviar Blue
GTX460 1gig DDR5 memory

I just keep getting issue after issue and have no idea what to do next, please help :(

Thanks for any help!

You've got enough power to work with most video, so it's most likely you just need to optimize a bit.

So make sure you've got all of the Windows updates. (Go manually to Windows Update and select Restore Hidden Updates so that you can get even the stuff that doesn't install automatically.) Also ensure you have the latest version of Quicktime. Then, for good measure, go to the nVidia web site and ensure you have the latest driver for your video card.

What model of camcorder is your video coming from and what format and resolution is it?

Have you used Match Video Project Settings to Media to ensure that your project is set up properly for this particular video format?

Hi Steve, thanks for your advice. :)

I actually use AVI files in 720 or 1080p that record from fraps when I work with video.
I will now get on with your advice and report back, thanks!

Well, FRAPS does pose its own challenges, since it uses a non-standard codec to create its video.

When you open one of your FRAPS files in G Spot or Media Info, what resolution, frame rate and, above all, codec are listed?

Have you contacted NewBlue support? They'll fix your problem :)

NewBlue Titler requires (or works much better with) GPU acceleration. You may wish to try to update to the latest video/GPU driver.

Also, make sure that you don't have Titler EX and Titler 1 or Titler 2.0 installed on the same system. Titler 1 and Ex had a conflict. The conflict seems to be resolved for the latest version of Titler 2 and Titler EX.

"Movie Maker uses way too little CPU:"
Do you mean Movie Studio? Movie Maker is a free Microsoft product.
Your observation is insignificant.
Vegas Movie Studio uses as much CPU as needed to keep up with the filters and encoder. ALL your observation means is that the CPU is NOT the bottleneck in the processing chain.
