If you are ever going to consider After Afects or Preimer Pro than CUDA is the way to go. I am not sure if it matters with Vegas I have a 5770 with 1gig ram on it and it seems to work OK.

The only "potential" problem I can see with the 7970 is that it is a brand new card and there may be problems with the drivers for quite a while. And if you plan to buy GPU accelerated plugins for your Vegas Pro, some/most of them will only work on CUDA enabled cards.

Thanks for the replies. So looks like a Cuda card then. When looking at the cuda cards different brands make the same cards is there a particular brand to use?
Thanks for the help

They are all licensed by nVidia, but I prefer to buy the nVidia GeForce line and skip the third-party manufacturers altogether.

When picking one, the geforce cards only have 1536mb of memory, but the pny have 1.5gb of memory. Am i reading the specs wrong. Do the geforce cards have the same 1.5gb memory
