RAID CARD - Do not buy anything from HIGHPOINT

I'm on my second week of blue screens and hair pulling - all thanks to my new HIGHPOINT raid card. Their service is horrible. I'm getting one word useless responses from their service dept. I'm offering to pay them money to help me fix it and still nothing. I may fly to China to take a sh*t in their headquarters.

Furthermore, it turns out that these cards still rely on your cpu to move data around. Only more expensive cards do all their own processing (such as Promise cards).

Do not make the mistake I made. Lay out the coin for a good raid card.

So hows the new job at Promise? National Sales Director....very Impressive.

As a suggestion, you might consider indicating WHICH Highpoint controller you bought, since they do sell quite a few -- RocketRAID 1520, 1540, 404, or the new Serial version. And hey, maybe even the problem(s) you were experiencing. If you want someone you read your messages, at least make it useful.

It's no secret, IDE Raid controllers in general are not very reliable, especially when used in mission critical systems. Reliable Raid are almost exclusively use to SCSI Drives.

I'm disappointed, after seeing some of your video clips. I was impressed with your creativity. But....There's no creativity in your crappy idea. And no one really benefits.

A story I read a few years ago comes to mind. I remember a story where a man bought a new car (Ford or Dodge) that turned out to be a lemon. No one would talk to him or listen to his complaint at the local or national offices, noONE that is,......except the fax machine. I guess somehow me must have accidently set it to redial and resend 15 minutes. Funny how those "accidents" happen. After a few days, The call was returned and problem resolved.

It's a highpoint 370. I'm sure you get the same crappy service no matter which model you buy.
