Raid - sync audio and video

Maybe this have been adressed elsewhere but have not seen any posting regarding it.

I've installed Raid 0 drives in my system to improve video edit and have noticed that the audio and video "appears" to go out of sync when previewing it. I have tested using the original .m2t files. At any given point the video and audio are in sync, after about 15 seconds of previewing I get the "out of sync problem".

It appears to be only a preview issue, can it be rectified??

The OS (XP Pro) is on a seperate IDE drive, video files are on Raid 0 drives.

Seems like I was able to rectify the problem myself after all!!

Changing the audio device to Microsoft Sound Mapper or DirectX solved the problem instead of selecting the ASIO Sound card option. DIrextX retains the sound quality whilst Microsoft Sound Mapper sound a bit "sqeaky".

From your system specs in your profile, you are using an Audigy.

There are some known bugs with some of the Audigy ASIO drivers.

These bugs are related to timing offset problems.

Make sure you have the latest driver set for your Audigy.

Thx Peter.

I've downloaded the latest Audigy drivers the next day and it solved the timing offset problems.

I've installed a new m/b with the latest Intel chipset supporting Raid, it comes with the latest Realtek onboard audio, however in my humble opinion the Audigy's audio quality is still superior thus I prefer using it. Just glad that the latest drivers solved this problem.
