I am considering purchasing this program if it does what I need, but cannot find the answer. I record our churches sermon tapes from a cassette format to the audio format .rm from Real Producer. The cassette tapes have some hiss and it them and need a program to clean them up. Will this work or can someone suggest something I coudl use? All i need to do is get rid of hiss and low volumn at times and make it a bit louder durinig the transfer. Thanks in advance.

Vegas and Sound Forge (and Studio XP) can both do this. You can apply a lot of correction with the graphic EQ to eliminate quite a bit of the hiss, especially during the speaking parts. You can adjust volume, compress, edit, etc. You can also save to RealMedia, Windows Media, and MP3 (all common audio formats on the web), and a host of other formats.

Probably the best thing for you to do is to download the demo version and give it a spin. You won't be able to save to MP3 with the demo, but you can try out RM and WMA.
