I've noticed the random leader times when printing to tape from the timeline, with test pattern set to 0.0, is there an explanation or fix?

Also, PTT from vidcap with a file, back to my DV camera, I can't quite get the delay etc right to capture the start of the file on tape. The record engage delay was at 4 sec, I tried increasing to 6 or 8, and tried increasing the no. of frames in the other setting, but I can't get consistant results. My understanding is that the record engage delay is for the camera to get itself ready to record, but I'm not quite sure aout the frames delay setting in that window.

Any ideas/explanations welcome!!
