randomly re-sorting still images

I've got about 250 sequentially numbered png images in three different directories on my drive. I now I need to randomly resort them so all the files are mixed up, like shuffling a deck of cards. Does anyone know of a utility or trick I might use to accomplish this or am I going to have to do it manually on the timeline? I thought Irfanview might have such a feature, but, it does not. Any ideas?

How about the Randomize Wizard in Excalibur?

Probably not as good as Excalibur, but you could place all the images in one folder and try sorting by one of the Windows Explorer columns that gives a random listing, maybe size, date modified, or dimensions; and if that does it, then highlight the selection set and drag to the timeline right from Windows Explorer.

JL, great idea. I also found that irfanview has that option. It worked very well. Sorting by size mixed them up tremendously. I never noticed how much variance there is in file size on pictures taken with the same settings on a digital camera. jetdv, thanks for mentioning that Excalibur can do that but this time I used a dime as a screwdriver and made out okay. Have a good one.
