I already have Vegas 4. If I were to purchase the above plug-in pack would I still require DVD Architecture or will the burber supplied with it suffice even if I don't always use the 5.1 facilities?

Or, having read the gumph regarding DVD Architecture am I right in assuming that this pack aslo includes the 5.1 encoders as supplied in the 5.1 plug-in pack.

Not sure what you are using to currently burn / author, but not every authoring app will support AC3 encoded audio files. For the upgrade price, DVDA is well worth it and it includes the AC3 encoder, for not much more than just the encoder upgrade.
