Hi all

I know I have acheived what I wanted some time ago with V4 but now I cannot get the results I require in V5.0d.

Basically I want an effect like the FT ad where everything is BW except the newspaper which is pink.

I re-read the following thread;
http://www.sonymediasoftware.com/forums/ShowMessage.asp?ForumID=4&MessageID=211063

but cannot seem to get it to acheive what I want

I have three video tracks with the same clip on each. The top track has the Chroma-Keyer filter added and I used the Colour Picker to select the colour I wish to show through. In my case a blue cardigan.

Track 2 is a child to track 1 and track 3 is set to BW.

Can anyone advise me as to what I am doing wrong?

Thanks.

I believe the problem is that starting with Vegas 5, masking is no longer automatic when creating a parent/child relationship. You'll need to set the compositing type on track 1 to Mutliply (Mask) and also add the mask generator effect to track 1.

Use the secondary color corrector. Use the eyedropper "select color range" and hit your pink paper. then click invert mask, and drag saturation to zero.
