Hi

I have been playing around (quite unsucessfully) with V4 trying to produce some text within a bubble that can, seemingly, float over a background. What I am trying to acheive is something like a speech bubble but just an elipse would be fine with, say, a white (glowing border) but the background to be seen through the bubble. In a way it would just highlight the text more as it floats around the screen.

So far I have managed to get halfway there using cookie cutter but not really acheiving my effect.

Can anyone offer some ideas?

Maverick, probably a very simple straight-forward method would be to create the bubble in a graphics program like photoshop, save it as a .gif file with transparent background, and import this to a track above the video. You could also use the elipse preset in the media generator. I've illustrated both methods here:

thoughtbubble.veg uses an imported graphic, although in this case i didn't make it transparent. faces.gif is the image used for the video and thoughtbubble.wmv is the output.

cat-thoughts.veg uses the media generator and text. input.jpg is the image used for the video and output.jpg is the finished image with the thought bubble on top of it.
