Re: CD Audio - Oh dear

Hi all!

I burnt the CD as discussed in earlier thread (mp3 files to audio CD) and only the first three tracks get seen

Acutally, it seems that it is one track repeated twice. The lengths are shown as 59.00:53, 381.19:06 & 794:41:46 respectively.

This is on the PC under both WMP & Real Player.

The method I used for creating the CD was to use V5 Explorer to add to media pool then selected the tracks I required and then Add as CD Track.

I have set the Audio properties correctly, I think.

Then I used Track at Once Audio CD.

ANy help would be appreciated before I waste another CD.

Ta.

Cheers

Did you setup CD markers? What I always did was double click on the clip for one track, then hit the marker button.

Hi

Markers (red ones - yes) were automatically inserted. I just changed the titles to suit my needs.

I have now oplayed it in a domestic CD player. The first ofthe three tracks plays but pressing the skip track button seemingly stats the smae track gain. Allowing it to play without interruption all 12 tracks were played as if one track. There were gaps between songs of 2 secs but yoiu couldn't select each song. So, have I got the markers mixed up. WHat were the red ones for?

Thanks for help.

Something else I noticed just before burning;

I was attempting to burn to 650MB/74 min disc yet V5 refused to allow me to burn until I had reduced the total time of tracks to 48 mins.

Hope this can help someone in giving me clues to what went wrong.

Cheers

Hmm..... Could you e-mail me the veg file? Or, I could e-mail you a V4 files that i've done audio CD's with (then you can asjust the markers to where you want.

Are the markers in order (or 1...2...3...etc) or are they out of order? I'm not sure if this makes a difference (i've never had problems doing an audio CD).

Aha

Maybe that could be problem with markers.

They are not out of order but I did delete about three of them. I deleted the events (mps) I decided I didn't want, then deleted the markers relating to those events (I had ripple turned on).

I then moved the remaining markers to the start and end of their relevent events. Dunno if this has any bearing on it. Can't see that it should?

Hi

A quick update.

I burnt another disc. This time I added markers at beginning of each music track (event) by pressing the M key.

The result was that hiting the skip track button in WMP or my domestic CD player caused each track to start playing somewhere in the middle.

But at leats it played.

Hi all.

Last disc I just burnt was absolutely OK.

So, what was different.

I started new project. Selected all tracks I required from Media Pool in one go and added them.

Then just burnt - but this time as Disc at once.

All fine oin WMP and two different domestic players (one a DVD).

Not sure why I had problems before but it works now.
