re: Clearing Media in DVDA

Hello,

I am working on a project that spans two DVDs. I finished the first DVD and would like to use the DVDA project file as a framework for the second DVD (menus, backgrounds, etc.).

The problem I am having is that I can't seem to delete or clear the media that was stored from the first DVDA file. I can delete it by clicking on the red X, but it doesn't seem to free up the disc space on the DVD space usage visual down in the lower right-hand corner. It actually began to add to it and it now shows that my DVD will be almost 9 gb in size.

Any solutions? Am I missing an option within DVDA2 somewhere? Has this been fixed in DVDA3?

I guess what I will try is open two sessions of DVDA and copy the info from the first file into a blank file for the second DVD.

Thanks for your help.
Rob

I believe that by hitting the red X, you're just deleting that particular stream (be it audio or video, whichever X you click) from the media. The title still exists in the project -- DVDA just intends to put filler (ie silence for audio, a blank screen for video) in place of the stream you've "deleted." DVDA's default bitrate is 8MB/sec -- still not sure if it uses CBR or VBR -- which may be higher than that used by your previous video. That may explain why the size estimate goes up. (Also because DVDA is not so good at estimating project sizes.)

If you're simply replacing each stream, then instead of clicking the red X, click the elipse and select the new video. If you simply don't want that item anymore at all, either delete its button from the menu if there is one or delete the item from the Project Overview window.
