Re: Extracting jpgs

Hi

Before I embark on my project I am hoping that someone could offer me a little advice.

I have a clip of about 2 seconds long from which I want to delete a person who is silhouetted. Then I want to fade that person out over the first minute leaving just the background.

My thoughts are to save each frame (PAL) separately to hard drive for the clip, Edit each frame in a photo editing program (Save as PNG?), then return to the time-line and ender as uncompressed AVI before adding back to the project.

I have 3 questions:

1. Is there a quick way of extracting the jpegs for each frame rather than saving each in turn then moving to the next frame and saving that?

2. Would there be a great deal of quality loss in doing the above?

3. Is there another method I should consider to achive my goal?

Thanks in advance.

I think there is a script somewhere that will save an image sequence. Save everything as PNG, not JPG. JPEG is lossy

That said, search for Difference Key on this forum. It migh offer an easier way to knock this person out of the shot (if it was a lock-off shot)
