I have a Sony HSR-SR11 camcorder in HD HQ mode (1440 x 10800. I edit in Vegas 9 Studio Platinum.
When I import a clip, its properties are reported as:-
VIDEO AVC 1440 x 1080 x 12 Frame rate 25 (PAL) Upper field first
Pixel aspect 1.3333 (HDV 1080)
AUDIO Dolby AC-3 48,000Hz
I would like to be able to do some work on it and then render it TO THE SAME RENDERING FORMAT (ie. so that it does not re-render everything). Re-rendering a) takes a long time, and b) causes quality loss.
But I cannot find in Sony Vegas any render format the same as the video input from the Sony Camcorder - either as a template or custom. I've tried MPG HDV 1080-50i and Sony AVC AVCHD 1440x1080 PAL - all to no avail. It ALWAYS re-renders.
I asked myself, why would Sony not provide a template corresponding with the output from their own cameras? Am I missing something? Has anyone managed to render native Sony video without it being re-rendered?
