Re: Replacing event

Hi

I came across the following problem and couldn't find an easy way to solve it;

I accidently deleted a png and failed to have made a backup so when the veg file was next loaded it showed 'media off-line'. I had to re-make the png - not a huge job - and wished place it in the event but could find a way to.

In the end I placed the png on a track just above the offending event, stretched it out to match, changed the fades then did a copy from the offending event and Paste attributes to the replacement. Then deleting the old and dragged the new in its place.

Phew - was there an easier way - I couldn't find one?

Cheers

BTW once again - back everything up!

Once the file is re-created, you can start up Vegas and when it can't file a particular file, tell it where to find it, from what I know, it should replace the missing file and everything should be back to normal.

Ouch - I missed that one.

Many times I've moved files around and let V4 search for them so that should have been obvious.

Cheers.

Also, if you had created the new .png file with exactly the same name as the old file and put it in the same folder, Vegas would have happily used it as if it were the original file without even so much as a hiccup.
