i was wondering what is the ideal resolution - if there is such a thing - for a 15 inch monitor and a 19 inch monitor?

is it just to make the preview screen bigger?
also, thanks once again to GG for helping out with snap picture preview screen...
must be at a certain size - i did not know that, now my pictures are clear
--thanks

Basicly the ideal resolutions is whatever you can comfortably view. Way back when I was running a 15 inch monitor I used 800x600. But, that is dependent on the monitors dot pitch. With a really good dot pitch you could get 1024x768 and still maintain a clear image. Currently I'm running a 19" monitor with a .26 in dot pitch and the ideal resolution seems to be 1280x1024. However at times, especially when using Vegas Video, I like to run at 1600x1200. Small text becomes a little harder to read, but I can run the video preview window at the full resolution of 720x480.

I've also noticed that different video cards put out different images. At the moment I'm using a nVidia GeForce2 MX-400 put out by Pine. The video signal from this seems to be much cleaner (less fuzzy) than the card I replaced which was a Matrox Marvel G400.

Hope this helps.
