Hello
This is my first post. I am still getting use to using VMS 8.0 and recently I also purchased Honestech's VHS to DVD 3.0. The latter came with a video capture device known as "MY vidbox NW02". While I am able to import the video captured by this device by searching for it's folder, I want to be able to capture via VMS capture.
VMS sees the device when I click the capture video command, but gives me an error message:
" The device 'USB2.0 VIDBOX NW02' could not be opened. Please make sure that it is turned on and is not being used by another application or user."
The Honestech application is not on when I try to capture.
The device is powered via the USB.
No other user is logged on.

This isn't a really make or break issue I just wanted the convienence of using VMS directly instead of using the Honestech app. first. I use this only because I am still using a Sony Hi8 camcorder.

The VidCap program that comes with Vegas is intended to work with firewire devices. Sometimes it will see other devices but often it does not. Go ahead and keep using the Honestech program for capturing.
