i just bought acid pro 3.0 from amazon for $200---i get a free up grade from sofo for acid pro 4.0
i want to try my hand at remixing etc.
but i'm still not sure of the difference between vv3 and acid pro
they kind of seem the same -- but i am getting 1,0001 fx and some loops
is there any other advantage?
thanks in advance for taking the time to clear this up for me
cheers

they said if i buy acid pro 3.0
and since i subscripe to the $100 technical support line
that i would get free upgrade to acid pro 4.0
i figured i would go for it
same thing in vegas video
look in sonic foundry catelogue
they give you options for upgrades

Apples and oranges really. Other than the GUI it is a very different animal in terms of code and CPU optimization for editing. Midi capability and so on.
Acid is amazing!
Enjoy it.
This application has given me the ability to proudly say that My son is into Acid!
:-)
He thinks Vegas is cool but he can sit for hours and play with Acid.

SB,

$200 for ACID Pro 4.0 seems like a good deal (but maybe the $100 maintenance/support contract should be included in that.) You can bring a video track into ACID and use ACID for developing your own background music "music bed." I guess it could help a lot with music videos, or any video for that matter. You don't edit the video track in Acid, but because it is there, you can synchronize your music to the video. I saw a demo of a kiddie version of Acid on the TechTV show a few weeks back. The kids were having a lot of fun putting loops together and playing them.

I guess ACID Pro 4.0 is in beta testing now. I am intrigued by its surround sound mixing capabilities.

Preach on! Dare I predict this bodes well for VV 4.0?

Its called 'Super Duper Music Looper' and if any of you have kids under the age of 10 this is a must have. My twin six year olds have a blast on this app. and it is extremely cheap (around 30 I think). Besides, it stops them from playing around with my Acid, and messing up presets and what not.
