I'm noticing that many people don't seem to be aware of
many features that exist in Vegas, and especially in the
new Vegas 2.0. I'm not a video guy but I've been using the
2.0 Vegas Video since the first beta and it makes no
difference to me as an audio professional that it's video
featureful. So, don't be afraid of this. I think they're
just making this public to kill two birds with one stone,
as the audio portion of both packages is the same (right?).
So, on that note I would encourage everyone to learn the
various shortcuts and keystrokes in Vegas - there are MANY.
It seems at times that they are hidden, een thought they
may be in the help file. Often one only understands them
when one needs them and not when reading about them. So,
explore. There always seem to be things I've missed. In the
new beta try dragging within an event holding down the ALT
key or dragging on the edge of an event holding ctrl-shift
or alt-shift, etc. There are many really useful things
here! Also be aware that in the new version the envelopes
have been redesigned... you can copy cut and paste
envelopes within a track and from track to track as well as
locking envelopes to events.
From reading many posts here it seems that a lot of people
are missing a lot of the power that Vegas has to offer. Dig
deep and ye shall find.
Good luck and feel free to let me know of anything I may
have missed!
