Ready for Tape...

We are having problems understanding what the difference is between 'Selectivly PreRender' and Build Dynamic Ram Preview'

if i have a project of 10 DV clips - they playback in realtime
if i add an FX between each clip it need to be rendered as it is not realtime

i gather that if i just want to preview what the fx look like in realtime i need to select the area where the fx are and do a 'Build Dynamic RAM preview'

however if i want to print to tape - what should i do and in what order ??? do i Build a dynamic ram preview, then selectivly prerender video and then print to tape ???

what are the standard ways of doing things in VV3 as we getting unstuck at times due to our lack of VV3 knowledge ! (plus we are used to realtime uncompressed video editing with SR2000x and Full Digisuite - guess we have been spoilt !)

any advice greatly received.

GLEN.

You just need to print to tape, it will render what it needs to render. Dynamic ram preview, and pre render are tools used to help preview effex or lessen the load on the CPU.
