I'm helping a friend on a project for public TV, and apparently they need a DVD with autostart. I've always made menus for my DVDs, so how does one go about making an autostart (no menu) DVD?
I'm confused- Autostart for TV? The autostart for CD's DVD's that I know of is for computers- when you pop it in the drive, it automatically comes up with whatever you programed to pop up.
If all you want is a dvd without menus that goes straight to the movie, just delete the menu(s) in the file tree on the left on DVDA.
Well, in DVD Architect, you just put the media asset above (outside) the main menu in the project list (at the left side). You then click on that asset, and then click on the auto-play button (which is at the top of the project list). That button sets which asset will play when the disc is first inserted.
I'm not in front of DVD/A right now, but if I understand the question (which is not a given by any means), go to File -> New then click on Single Movie. This will allow you to load your media and it will play as soon as you put your DVD in a player (and it's read, of course).
It's irrelevant if you have menus or where in the tree your media appears. If you have designated your media as "Set DVD Start" and set the end-action to "Loop", then that will give the original poster the disc "autoplay" function that he is looking for.
Actually I thought about that, too, but I didn't set the end to loop, so the menu popped up in Preview. But File>New>Single Movie should work just fine for what I need.
