Im looking at purchasing a USB external sound card for voice over purposes. If I were to purchase a TascamUS 122 or Edirol UA-20
Compact 24-Bit USB Audio Interface with Direct Monitoring and MIDI I/O ...those units with asio and WDM drivers would let me use most of the audio fx drivers on vegas 4 real time correct?? Any folks use either of these units??? The m-audio ext USB units have gotten mixed reviews and Im hesitant to go with them. JOHN

The ASIO drivers are supported, but neither of those units have done too well in the review department. If budget is an issue, I'd look very closely at the M-Audio tools, they are very highly recommended by many. If you really are set on one or the other, I'd get the Edirol, they actually build their own stuff. Tascam's not doing much manufacturing on lower end tools anymore.
ASIO will give you low latency on the input monitoring with FX running, yes. About 10 ms in Vegas. Vegas doesn't support WDM.
