Real-time Playback

Hey guys, I've recently installed Vegas 5.0 trial on my computer to test and see the real-time playback effects, could someone please tell me how I can get my guitar to have effects on it as I play it through my computer. I have my guitar connected through my computer through my sound card's microphone input. I can hear my guitar fine through the speakers, but I do not know how to get the effects to sound with it.

You need to have a soundcard that can run in ASIO mode. Do a search in the Vegas help (from the Vegas menu) on ASIO and it will tell you how to do this.
This will require input monitoring set to ON (again in the help) and will only work with plugins that output the same number of samples as are input. Most of the Sony plugins do this.
