What kind of real world track counts are you guys getting? I mean with MANY edits, crossfades, and a few plugins?
In the past I always made submixes and renered them to stereo tracks to save horsepower, then mixed a " composite mix" with all the separate stereo mixes
I HATE doing it this way, but seemed the only way to really pull things off
What are you guys seeing performance wise?
I am running nearly the fastest available pentium, the hard disk seems barely to get bothered at all, nor is the RAM being used( according to windows admin monitor utility thing), yet once there are a few dozen edits and a few plugs, hitting save or moving the scrollbar will cause stutters, some even crash the program, like loop selecting a distant area while playing back. Its frustrating
