Please describe what you mean by "connected" the wrong media clip, and "timeline edit to media clip association".

If I got your question right...

You can do it from within Media Pool:
Right Click the file you want to replace, choose Replace from the shortcut menu, in the Replace Media dialog browse and select the file you want to replace the current file. Click Open, the selected file will replace your old file in the Media Pool and all events on the Timeline that use this file will get updated.

Or:
Rename the avi file (from Windows Explorer) that has the wrong pointer. Then open your project, Vegas will be unable to find the file and will present you a dialog giving the opton to assign a replacement file.

gkvideoguy: I moved some avi capture files to a new folder on the hard drive, and when I went to open the vegas file it asked to search or identify the new location of the clips. I accidentally selected a different avi file and then saved the Veg. file. Doh!

Thanks r56!!
