Recapture facilities

Is it now possible with Vegas 5 to delete all the media in a project and recapture only the edited media in the timeline (with an extra margin)?
I worked on several other editing station and that function seems to me quite essential in a way it can save space on the disks and also make possible to rebuild a project (after having deleted it) to work on it time later without being obliged to capture the film from the master tape and in that way to be limitated for the editing.

Thank you

Hi Videojohn. If you select to Save As, there is an option to also "Copy and trim media files" with the project. This option also allows you to specify an "extra head and tail" length, sometimes called Handles, or in your post, margins.

If you save the project in this way, but to a different folder, you will then be able to delete the media files from the original project and recover the disk space.

The "Copy and trim media files" is one of the most useful features in Vegas. In addition to saving space when archiving projects, it lets you consolidate the assets for a project in one place. I have lots of disks, and sometimes I find the media assets are scattered all of the place, and I am not sure what can be deleted and what I should leave alone.
