Recapture grayed out

I'm having to re-edit a DV project I finished in May.

When I completed the job, I deleted all the captured avi files but left the 100+ veg files.

Naturally now, when I load a veg file, the media is offline and the "What do you want to do" message box appears but on some veg files and on only some clips both the "Recapture Media" & "Recapture all offline Media" are grayed out. This is also the case if I ignore at this point and right click in the project media later.

There is a workaround in that if I do a new capture of the whole tape and then do a direct replace - all works fine.

But it seems silly that on the same project with just two tapes/6 clips, 4 clips from one tape can be recaptured while the other tape's 2 clips cannot.

Has anybody seen this problem before (both on 7 and pro) and, if so, why does it happen?

When you capture, the data is stored in a .sfvidcap file.
This file is needed for recapture - maybe the file is missing or you saved a new file with the same name.

Thanks Udi, but it's not the .sfvidcap file.

Even if it's deleted, one veg will show the clips can be recaptured, another veg won't - same project, same set of tapes, etc

Still seems very odd.
