Recapture with non-continuous timecode, is possible?

explains how to recapture DV with precision sync from the original source using the advanced capture. (Yeah, I actually used the search.)

Before I knew a little more about what I was doing, I recorded DV with a non-continuous timecode (ie leaving blank gaps in the source media). It seems since the Advance Capture uses the timecode to precisely locate a section of tape, I'm probably out of luck if I try to recapture with guaranteed sync at a later time, eh?

You might try Scenalyzer. It claims to be able to do this.

Otherwise you might have to cue the tape to some place within the shot so that Vegas is seeing the segment of time code you want it to look for. Vegas will need enough head on the shot for pre-roll.

That's not so automatic, but it's not hand-cranked either.
