Recapturing files !!!

I just finished editing a video on my computer. It of course takes up a lot of space on the hard drive. If I delete the video files on my computer but leave the vegas 6.0 file on my computer, can I do a "Re-Capture of the files from the DV tape (XL2 Canon) and they will be pulled into the project line again?

If so, I have the video from multiple DV tapes. Will this effect me from getting all the files back?

It all should recapture without a problem if you have the Veg files.

To test for yourself, rename your media folder and then open the project (The project would need to be outside the media folder for this to work right). Don't let Vegas try to find the files. Now right click in the media pool and choose "recapture offline media". Follow along from there to familiarize yourself with the process.
