Recomendation for Tutorial for Vegas 8 Platinum

Hi,

I recently switched from Adobe Premiere 6 to Sony Vegas 8 Movie Studio Platinum cause I needed an HDV solution. I've got the basics down using Sony's built in tutorials, but really think a comprehensive tutorial, preferably with lessons to follow along using actual files. Would want it to include info on HDV files and authoring to DVD. Been checking around and the ones on Amazon either aren't specific enough to the product or have bad reviews. Does anyone here have any recommendations?

Thanks for any help,

A very good DVD tutorial is from VASST www.vasst.com. it is called Vegas Movie Studio+DVD Training DVD
The Basics and Beyond

It is hosted by Douglas Spotted Eagle (Spot/DSE) he is a regular contributor here on the forums and a genuine expert on all that is Sony VEGAS. I bought the DVD and learned allot from it, and it is inexpensive also. Good Luck and you will love Vegas.

Thanks for the info on DSE. I was just checking out another forum and read some similar comments. I will look for it on the VASST website. I wonder if they also have a book or a combo book/DVD from DSE. Did you look to see what was the best for learning? Thanks,

Some good videos right here in the Support > Training section.

Direct link: Vegas Movie Studio Training Videos

The Help > Show Me How tutorials are good too.

Do a Search (link at top of page) for "tutorial" on this forum changing "search by date" to 2-years and you'll come up with threads mentioning tutorial, some with good links.

One thing to watch out for, though, is many tutorials are for the full version of Vegas, VMS is missing some of the features of its big brother but it'll get you going. There are also quite a few on YouTube.
