Recommend some video fx settings

I'm transferring some older TV shows I taped to DVD in VMS6.

Could you recommend some basic video fx to touch up the video part to make some improvements?

There are several tools in the FX tab you can use to improve your video. Old video tape may mean washed out colors but not knowing the condition I would say play with these until you see a change you like.

HSL
Brightness and contrast
Color balance
color corrector
Levels
Saturation adjust
