Record with UA-5...two mic inputs..record with one mic...how to still get stereo????

I am recording on Vegas with Edirol UA-5 sound card. This has two inputs (1/L,2/R)
I am recording guitar track with two condenser mics so both tracks are being used. Then when I want to record vocals with just one mic, it still splits it as if there were two inputs so vocals are only heard on left or right depending on which input I use. Is there anything I can do to record on one mic and have it be stereo? So it is not split to left or right?
And if this is by making it mono, how do I isolate only the vocal track as such?
Thank you much
Miss willie

If you right click (I believe) on the arm record button of the track you want to record to, you should get a menu of options. It will say something like UA-5left, UA-5right, UA-5 stereo. Choose the input that your mike is connected to, and you should get a mono track of your vocals. (Anything recorded from a single mic source is considered mono in and of itself).
