I've been experimeting with adding recorded sound in real time. I drag video clips with preexistent sound tracks to the timeline. I adjust this original audio track to 1.0 DB. I next mute this track, turn on record on a lower audio track and record some audio, with this second track set to 7 DB gain.
While it records and plays fine as long as the original sound track is muted, the original audio track drowns it out once I cancel the mute button. This does not seem to happen if I use two precorded audio tracks on different tracks.
When recording audio on a track with volume set higher than other tracks shouldn't I be able to hear it over the original track or does a recorded track need to have a higher track position similar to the video overlay cancelling out lower video tracks unless you adjust the transparancy.
