Recorded audio tracks disappear in 4.0d

I also experieced this in 4.0c and <. I set some audio tracks to record, hit record, graphs show activity on the timeline for all tracks. I then hit stop and they disappear. I go to undo and there is no option to recover. It is as if I never recorded. I have had this happen a couple of times in a row (one take several seconds, the other a few minutes), and then all is fine. What gives?

yep...same here.

I have noticed that that the reorded take does appear in the selected recording folder but is just about 1 kb or something.

I've seen similar issues with Vegas. In my case I record, everything looks fine (I see the waveform in the event) and then I stop recording and it disappears. HOWEVER, the audio I recorded is still there, it's in an event below the empty one. Select the blank event, type CTRL-X and you'll see the original recorded event under the empty one. See if that helps or is what you're experiencing.

Jeez! Is Vegas 4 ever going to work properly??!! Each time I think its safe to install it, another bug emerges on the forum. Vegas 3 seems quite solid with no significant issues that I encounter. I suppose I'll stay with it for awhile longer. . . ;-(

I am still suffering with this one.
And I mean suffering.

I've been doing a lot of fast and furious (or do I mean f** frustrating) tracking lately, and its a killer....

I mentioned this on another thread: I have had this happen too, however - the files ARE there! They are in the media pool. You just have to drag them back into the project.

This is good to know. I will look next time and drag them in. Still very annoying though.

I have been usng 4d extensively since it came out, and have (fortunately) never had this experience.

Is it WAVs or W64s or both ?
Is it occasional, often, always ?
Are you stopping rec with <spacebar>, <enter>, or a controller ?
Do you get the "Delete All /Rename / keep' / blaa..." dialogue ?

.wav's, about 25% of the time overall. Maybe a couple times in a row, then not again until 10 takes later.

I start and stop recording either from the spacebar or the mouse.

Yes I do get the dialog. When I close it, the tracks go away. I turned that dialog off and the same still happens, just without the dialog first.
