Recording Audio from soundcard Synth

If you didn't read my last post, I am new to Vegas.

I have a MIDI sequencer, and a keyboard controller patched
into my soundcard's MIDI port. I have no problems selecting
a patch, playing the keyboard, and recording that sound to
Sound Forge. It's all done internally on the soundcard with
excellent sound quality.

Vegas does not allow me to do this (that I have found) and
I'd REALLY like to. I can play a note on my keyboard, and
hear it through the output of my soundcard, but it will not
register on the level meters in Vegas. If I record, I get
silence (except for the humming and hissing I described in
my last post).

Does anyone know if/how I can do this?

Thanks!!!!

Go into the options menu and select preferences. Select
the routing. Select "Use custom bus routing". For your
output routing select your soundcards driver for Bus A &
Preview. More importantly select your "Default audio
recording device", which should also be your sound cards
Line in driver. NOW GO READ YOUR VEGAS QUICKSTART AND
SETING UP VEGAS SECTION IN THE MANUAL. If you can get
successfull recording in sound forge, Vegas is no different
how it addresses hardware. So in short if you're having
problems with Vegas, the problem is not Vegas, the problem
is your lack of knowledge to use Vegas and setting it up
correctly on your system.

LOL, I figured I didn't know what the heck I was doing. But
after looking through the manual, and fiddling with Vegas
(and my soundcard settings) for over 3 hours, I had enough
and decided to write to this forum.

Thanks, I will try that!
