I'm having trouble when I move a project by way of an ADAT card into a friend's computer who uses Vega 1.0. It will record using 24 bit, but won't play back unless he sets preferences back to 16 bit. Does he have to move up to a later version of Vegas?
I'm guessing here, but i seem to recall that Vegas 1 and 2 only supported 16 bit files. If that's true, the files you've recorded are probably only 16 bit.
Dunno if Vegas 1.0 will do 24-bit at all, but with the fostex you can save the files to a zip if you have one. If the zip is DOS/Windows formatted the Fostex will automatically save each track as a .wav file. This would get the files into Vegas, or whatever, in the way they were recorded. However, if the app does not support 24 bit, the files won't work, but it will save a re-recording of the same sound.
