Recording Guitar but can't hear it until after I've stop

Hello

Thanks for looking at this question. I'm using Vegas 4 with a Yamaha Ds2416 sound card It works fine except that while I'm recording I can't hear the input with the rest of the output ie drum loop. So I'm recording guitar on a empty audio track and a drum loop playing but all I hear out of the head phones is drum loop. I've tried all the outputs and inputs on my sound card in the preferences window, put still no luck. Could this be a vegas thing or a just a sound card thing?

You have two choices:

1. Configure your DS2416 to do hareware monitoring of input. This will monitor the raw input - unprocessed - input into your hardwares outputs.

2. Use the ASIO drivers for the DS2416 and enable input monitoring on the track you are recording. This will let Vegas mix the input into the output - and apply any track FX .
