How is your input set up?

Do you see any signal getting to the record meter when the track is armed?

What Vegas build are you using, and can you tell us more about your hardware setup (i.e., mainboard, CPU, audio hardware, NT service pack version, etc)?

Thanks to those of you who replied to my message. Here are a few applicable facts:

We're a radio station. We're not using a standard Windows mixer, but, rather, a custom mixer provided with our Antex LX-44 sound card. It seems to be working fine. Yes, we are getting an input signal on record meters when tracks are armed. We are not getting a waveform and there's nothing there for playback.

Also loaded into our system are Tedwin (old, miserable, full track editing program circa Windows 3.1!), and SawPro (a not-so-user-friendly multitrack application.) Our Chief of Tech Ops does not believe there is a software conflict, even though, after using Tedwin, the computer must be rebooted or nothing plays back on SawPro. Arrrggghhh! I think he may be mistaken, but I need some backup. He's a very busy, but sharp guy.

I want to get the station onto a one application track and I want it to be Vegas, as I have had previous, positive experience with Sonic Foundry products.

Thanks again for your help, folks! Keep it coming!

It's hard to know for sure, but I suspect a software conflict. I know he's busy, but the best way to troubleshoot this would be to uninstall your other two audio apps first. At least then you can eliminate those items as the problem.

I find it very odd that you're seeing levels on your meter but no wave forms are recorded. This tells me that the signal is correctly routed into Vegas, but Vegas is, for some odd reason, not recording. Have you verified that the Vegas settings match your soundcard's settings? (Bit depth, sample rate, etc.)

Good Luck!
