Recreating mid 00s video quality

I'm working on a project and the videos are meant to be from around 2007, does anyone know how I can easily get my footage to be of a similar quality to what you'd find on an early camcorder?

There is a TV simulator effect in Vegas, but going for realism I would (if you have a VCR and analog capture) create a DVD of the footage and either recapture it or record it to a VCR or camcorder and recapture it.

I don't have a camcorder or VCR, sadly, so I probably can't complete the project yet but hopefully I can get a camcorder.

Shoot the footage interlaced as opposed to progressive.
