Red and Blue scratchy lines on viewing movie.

When viewing my finished movie, I notice that during a simple fade cross over transition between clips there are these horrible red and blue scratchy lines that appear over the video during transition.

Does anybody know if there is a way to stop this? I am using the AVCHD to hard drive as that seemed to give the best video quality.

Learned these work-arounds through desperate trial & error. It was worse with 9 & 10 and happens less frequently with HD Movie Studio Platinum 11.

Sometimes, saving, shutting down, and restarting vegas gets rid of them.

Sometimes lopping off the offending end of the clip and re-stretching it gets rid of them.

For more stubborn episodes of this, replacing the clip on the timeline and re-editing it sometimes removes the effect.

I find that it happens more often when more than a few programs are open at the same time (sony, gimp, skype, web browser, a game, word processor, files).

It also happens more often when there are a lot of tiny bits of clips rather than your longer bits, and when there are many tiny bits together, though this isn't a hard and fast rule - it can happen anytime, really.

Good luck!
